
2026 Pizza Box Challenge
- Boxes will be distributed at the December 2025 meeting
- On the outside of the box attach a page with your name and phone number and any special instructions. Have enough lines for quilters to add their names when they work on your box.
- In the box, attach a sample and label your focus fabric and background fabric
- Focal fabric – about 2 yards
- Background fabric – about 2 yards
- Coordinating fabrics – about 2 to 2 1/2 yards. Cuts ranging from fat quarters to 1/2 yard cuts. Be sure to include darks, mediums & lights and possible accent fabrics.
- Make a block to include in your box. Sign your name to paper on the top of the box and include the block pattern name.
- Rules
- You may use any piecing method: pieced, paper pieced, applique. Hand or machine sewn
- Do not duplicate other blocks in the box unless otherwise indicated
- Use only the fabric in the box.
- Unfinished block size must be 12 1/2 x 12 1/2
- You can make any block pattern you wish, unless instructed otherwise
- Pin a note on the block you made with your name, the pattern name and anything special about the block.
- Notify the owner of the box if you feel the supply of fabric is getting low.
- Bring the pizza box to the next meeting to be exchanged. If you cannot attend, find someone to bring the box to the meeting for you for the exchange.
- If you have any problems or questions, please ask for help.
- Remember: you will not see your box again until the challenge is over.

UFO Challenge
- February 2026 – Present 5 unfinished projects to submit for the challenge along with $20.00
- Eligible projects must have at least 3 steps remaining to be considered finished.
- Acceptable projects
- Finished quilt top that needs to be quilted, bound and labeled
- Not yet started projects that are 40×40 baby blanket, lap size or bigger or table runner with four placemats.
- Acceptable projects
- Eligible projects must have at least 3 steps remaining to be considered finished.
- Complete all five projects by November 2026 meeting to be eligible for a prize.
- Bring finished projects for show and tell and get a stamp in your passport and be sure to check in with Jill to get credit for a completed UFO.
Motif Challenge – Due June 2026
A motif in sewing is a decorative, recurring design element share or figure – such as a flower, geometric shape, or applique – used to adorn fabric or enhance a garment’s design.
Motifs are often repeated to form patterns or used individually, created through embroidery, sewing, or applique, and applied to areas like quilting, borders or clothing for aesthetic appeal.

Paint Chip Challenge- Completed March 2026
- Using at least one color from each of your paint chips make anything of your choice for example: a bag, table runner, or wall hanging.
- You can add as many additional colors as you want, but the majority must be the paint chip colors.
- Pattern choice is up to you, make it fun.
- Challenge is due at the March meeting.
